Iconic Australian Outback Painting - The Background Story
This original painting of the Australian Outback depicts a favourite theme of Rolf's. trees, fence and shack at dawn that was later immortalized and reproduced as a limited edition print 'Bush Shack at Sunrise'.

This original for sale was painted many years earlier on stage during a 1981 performance by the artist singer and comedian Rolf Harris at the Sagebrush theatre in Kamloops, British Columbia.
The picture was later sold at the 'Auction of Experiences' an annual charitable event on behalf of the Western Canada Theatre Company,
The painting was bought by Adam Maryanovich, the owner manager of a Real Estate Company and a Director of the Western Canada Theatre Company. Adam was a determined bidder for the picture 'I was under strict pressure from the family as the boys had already decided where they wanted it hung in the house'.
Adam along with his family was at the performance at the Sagebrush Theatre in 1981 and describes the whole event as 'captivating and inspirational. The boys were very impressed by the songs and stories as well as the painting and all three have gone on to work in the Arts'.
The painting is for sale on behalf of Adam, by negotiation through Articulate Fine Art.
'It is not just the iconic Australian Outback subject that makes this such an important picture' says Articulate Director, Raymond Chaplin, but also its size (96 x 91 inches) painted on a specially constructed plywood panel'. 'More importantly, its history is fully documented and we have a photograph of Rolf on stage with the painting in the final moments of its creation
Raymond expects worldwide interest in the painting. 'This is a classic early Rolf and an iconic subject favoured by him'. 'It is a 'must have' painting both for a private collector or for a public gallery particularly in Australia or Canada reflecting Rolf's lifetime work and reputation as both an artist and performer'.
